Our Story: Life Minus Work
The traditional view of retirement is outdated. It’s an image of endless free time, lonely bucket lists, and maybe a quiet game of golf. But for millions of people moving into their third act, that vision often leads to something unexpected: a loss of purpose, a disconnect from community, and a feeling of simply slowing down.
That’s the gap we decided to fill.
Life Minus Work was born from the conviction that the years after full-time work shouldn’t be about stopping; they should be about starting. This is not an ending; it’s an arrival. It’s a chance to truly reclaim purpose and freedom on your own terms.
We are a rapidly growing community dedicated to empowering people aged 45–65 as they transition meaningfully into retirement. We help our members “rebel against a boring retirement” by replacing old routines with vibrant, shared experiences.
We built our custom platform to be the dynamic space where this transformation happens. We curate high-quality activities and services, from learning to sail on Sydney Harbour to mastering the pottery wheel, that are all centred around forging genuine connections and rediscovering purpose.
Our mission is simple: to transform retirement from a passive waiting game into the most exciting, fulfilling, and connected chapter of a person’s life. We believe your biggest legacy isn’t what you leave behind, but the connections you foster and the life you live right now.
You haven’t stopped. You’ve arrived. We’re here to help you live it.
